Immersion Therapy wins 2024 Industry Innovation Award
Immersion Therapy has again been recognised as a revolutionary allied health service by taking home the Industry Innovation Award at the 2024 AUSactive National Awards Gala on Friday 11th October 2024.
The AUSactive National Awards Program is a highly anticipated event celebrating excellence and innovation within Australia’s exercise and active health sector.
Powered by Belgravia Leisure and founder of Immersion Therapy Determined2, Immersion Therapy is an evidence based, world first allied health service which uses SCUBA equipment to create a weightless underwater environment. It offers transformative benefits for individuals with conditions such as autism, anxiety, depression, MS, spinal cord injuries, amputations and soft tissue injuries.
This accolade marks a consecutive win for Belgravia Leisure and Belgravia Foundation, following their success in 2023 with the Industry Innovation Award for CĂ©rge, a partner app enhancing the personalised guest experience for people with disabilities visiting community venues.
Adding to the celebration, Geoff Lord, Chairman and CEO of Belgravia Group, was honoured with the AUSactive Chair Award for his remarkable contributions to the health, fitness and leisure industries, with his heartfelt speech earning a standing ovation.
Lord has continued to be inspired by and supportive of all that Immersion Therapy offers and has made a personal donation to assist in providing Immersion Therapy to people who were missing out through not being able to afford the service.
Kia Naylor, Belgravia Leisure Allied Health Manager is thrilled that Immersion Therapy is being recognised for its physical, psychological and social benefits.
“Allowing clients to experience a newfound sense of freedom beneath the surface whilst using exercise as a treatment for clinical conditions means that Immersion Therapy is truly a therapy of the future.
“The team has worked incredibly hard to roll out this program and it’s wonderful for them to be recognised for their dedication as they continue to create a positive impact in the community.”
The collaboration between Determined2 and Belgravia Leisure means that Immersion Therapy has the opportunity to further expand, with plans to introduce the program to more facilities across Australia and New Zealand. This expansion will remove distance barriers, ensuring that individuals outside of Adelaide and Victoria have access to this life-changing service.
The AUSactive National Awards Gala, formerly known as the Fitness Australia Awards, was held at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf, Sydney, continuing its tradition of honouring remarkable talent and dedication within the industry.
